This workshop is ideal for teachers and visual arts educators interested in learning how to integrate elements of Photovoice into their classrooms, programs, and project-based initiatives. Presented by participatory photography facilitator Diana Nazareth, you’ll learn how to collaborate with community agencies; how develop project themes, goals and objectives, and how to increase and sustain student/participant engagement in throughout your project. Learn how to design a program around core participatory photography themes such as self-efficacy, empowerment and advocacy. Explore the value of using a Photovoice-inspired approach to take, discuss, and exhibit photos for your community-based programming.
