This fall, our blog went back to school with the Back to School with a New Lens series, sharing ideas for photovoice educational settings. On November 19 at 12pm ET our community of practice gathers around photovoice in educational settings, from primary schools to colleges and universities.
Some of us have tried a photo walk with a class, built photovoice into a university course, or supported students researching their own campus. Others are still wondering where to begin. This Coffee Hour brings those experiences together, so we can learn from one another across classrooms, campuses and countries. A few questions to get the conversation going: How does photovoice fit into a school day or a semester? What changes when the facilitator is also the one giving grades? How can college and university students move from being studied to doing the research themselves?
Teachers, faculty, students, school staff, youth workers and researchers are all welcome, whether you are new to photovoice or have years of practice behind you. Bring your stories, your questions and your coffee, and join the peer-to-peer exchange.
So, grab a cup and join us on November 19 at 12pm ET! ☕📸
(Sliding ticket price from $0 to $15 to help keep this event accessible to everyone.)
