Aspasia is an Associate Professor and Director of the Sport Pedagogy Laboratory at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She lectures at a Doctoral, Master and Undergraduate level on the topics of Innovative Pedagogies, Physical Education Teacher Education and (Post)Qualitative Research, all with a focus on equity, democracy, diversity, and inclusion.
She is the author of 7 edited books, 60 peer reviewed articles and 30 book chapters and has presented more than 80 research papers at national and international conferences.
Her work within (inter)national organizations and communities has consistently placed participants at the center, designing projects that explore themes such as embodiment, intellectual activism and educational praxis, and transforming individual stories into collective action.
Aspasia discovered the power of creative methods while exploring arts-based approaches to teachers’ professional development and participatory action research. Until today, Aspasia has translated her experience into professional training and facilitation, developing workshops, teacher guides, and courses that help educators, researchers, and community leaders to integrate creative methods and more-than-human forms of inquiry into their practice.
Her career reflects a deep commitment to creativity as a tool for learning, connection, and socio-political transformation.
She received her PhD in Physical Education Teacher Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece
